Just Children

“Artists are just children who refuse to put down their crayons.”

Reactions

Recently I was informed that I will be having minor surgery to remove all four of my wisdom teeth. This photo I took on March 28 sums up my reaction wonderfully.

And so

August 3, 2010

And so it was that they danced all the while long with the shadows. Straying from the light far too many times to count even with the pearls of the sky, they stole away into the darkness. Never seen, seldom heard, their movements were like a river running; entrancing any who dare look and ensnaring any one fool enough to enter. Within the depths found in the void of light one might find company with them, though never long is their presence felt. On the whim of the wind they carry themselves away, weightless save for the burdens of the knowledge that every breath they take is spent so that one more might take it’s place. But within the obscure seclusion before the dawn they carry on as they have for so many a day with a dance upon their feet.

Falling Freely

August 2, 2010

“It is the most unexplainable feeling which has ever swept over me.” I whispered on a voice so soft I questioned if the words even left my lips. “When I am standing still….I feel as if  I am falling freely.” I blushed for a reason unknown to me beneath his steady, never once wavering, gaze “…and when I am falling freely it as much as though I were standing still.”

The Chey Line

July 28, 2010

“In my introversion I realize that a 12 year old girl has completely turned everything upside down for me. My business plans, my life plans, even my relationships have changed. It’s been a ripple effect from my professional life into the deepest parts of my soul.”

For those of you who do not know, I photographed Cheyenne and her family on Father’s Day of this year at a local children’s hospital. She had been fighting stage 4 cancer that was in her brain and in her meninges and had been in the hospital for over 60 days. Today at 2:32 am, Cheyenne’s pain and suffering finally reached it’s end as she went on to be with the lord. Cheyenne was 12 years old.

This print line was scheduled to be launched today and it’s purpose was to offer support to Cheyenne and her family during the difficult times they had been facing. Now that Cheyenne has passed on, the print line is a dedication to her, in the most loving memory of a girl who’s life affected my own and those of countless others. 100% of all proceeds will still go directly to Cheyenne’s family during this painful and difficult time in their lives. Thank you to all who supported Cheyenne during her fight with cancer, and thank you to all who support her family now that her fight has reached it’s end.
